The Biggest Highlights, and the Biggest Failure (Literally me)

In my project about Transphobia I had the most fun out of both projects making the poster, asking around, and getting the "scoop" on others and even starting up the GSA. But my biggest highlight was going to school on November 20th and seeing people wear the colors of my people. even if it was a handful of people it still pulled at my heartstrings and It made me want to cry that I Can be supported for being me. So I would have to say that's my favorite day of this semester. But the worst day was the day I couldn't get my poster up in the bathrooms. That was the part I spent so much time on and I knew it would spread news on Nov 20th like wildfire. But instead it was rejected because it "Surrounded one group" While at the same time for three months we had nothing but stuff talking about suicide and stress. SO yeah thanks school. But if you cant get what you want. Steal it or do it without permission. We changed the title of the poster and still put them up in the hallway.

Well I finished mt TED talk poem thinking it would be done sooner, I haven't gotten ANY rel,y from the schools so I'm not going to be interviewing kids from middle schools and elementary schools. So I shall interview people and students from Red River and put it into the video I'm starting today.

Story Time!

I remember when I started this class I knew no one ( and their still many people I don't know) but now I know that I don't have to be shrunk up and quiet, if something matters to me I should say it. Like with my Transphobia project. I am Transgender. This matters to me because this is MY LIFE, I know how it is to be picked on for not knowing who you truly are. I only discovered myself last year. Even then theres still so many people who don't know because I am afraid of being made fun of. I remember the day I was made fun of this year like it was yesterday. I got to my fifth hour a little late because of it. I saw this group of at least six jocks walk past me, and I hear "Whisper whisper TRANNY whisper" So I stopped and looked at them and said "I know you didn't just say what I thought you just said." To which I got comments right back. Which I will not repeat here. But it was that small mistake that struck my idea to make that project. Get it into peoples heads that WE'RE PEOPLE TOO. We might be different but in all honesty no on is the same.

A person is a person. No matter what Gender, Size, Sexuality. Or all.

Second Project Week 2 reflection

Today I finally got a email back from the principal of Lewis an Clark and I also sent out an Email to the Principal of Schroeder Middle School so I can interview students there. Next is to find out what I need and where I need to be for the interviewing of the kids. For my TED Talk I will talk about Child abuse in family homes because this has intrigued me so much.

Week one reflection project 2

This is my first week reflection on my second project.  What is working for me is I'm getting the website for the Child abuse done and over with. I accomplished a lot this week when I started I made a script for the child abuse video I'm gonna make, I emailed the principal of Lewis and Clark elementary and asked to interview the staff and students.
Next week I'm hoping to be able to interview the students and staff and get a camera for the videoing. One obstacle would be I don't have a camera and I still need permission to interview the students.

First reflection of second project

This is the first reflection of my second project about Child abuse and how to prevent it and what to do if you are abused. I really like this idea of child abuse so i'm planning a video, interviews, a poster and a website to put this all on after this is all done. I want to do this project out of all the others I thought of, Child abuse, Homophobia, Mental Disability, BLM, Free the Nipple, Suicide awareness, Nursing home abuse, And Animal Abuse. So this is my first reflection.

Reflection number 8

This is the last reflection for this project. This project was my project on Transphobia and Trans rights. I've done everything in my power to do this project...With the little help I got I made the Poster myself. I made the Quiz myself. I talked to Nelson about the facts. And I talked to the GSA about our project myself. My Project was consistent of making a Toilet Talk which is a poster which is hung in the bathroom stalls and hangs there for people to read but we got rejected on the Toilet Talk so we changed it to a thing called Fountain Facts which is the same poster as the Toilet Talk just a different title.
The next part of our project was I made a small script for the GSA talk to here on the first day I welcomed the GSA and covered my project in a wholesome and told them about the toilet talk. Another part was a survey I made on Google Forms ( Check it out. And I recorded the responses we have so far. I'm hoping to get to 40 before actually making count.
Finally I spoke to MR. Nelson on the Day of remembrance where we got rejected for a moment of silence but it might be accepted for a fact to be spoken on this subject for this day and for a heads up to wear Pink Blue and White. Just to show support to those of us who were killed in murders or suicides for being who we are. Because this transphobia problem has been going on for so long and it needs to stop before more die. All because did you know One transgender every 3 weeks is killed in the entire world?
For my next project I want to cover over Nursing home abuse and talk to the elderly on how their treated in their nursing homes compared to those how live at home and talk to their grandchildren and kids on facts and ideas of how that person was before they went into that nursing home.

Our last reflection for this project we talked to Mr.Nelson and I hung up the GSA posters with my friend before I made the LGBT Quiz to which we have about 27 answers to it. One of which are inappropriate for a school project. Our goal is to get to about 40 responces before we actually compare what people know now compared to later what they know after they take the quiz again.

Reflections number 7

For innovations class we then worked on talking to Mr.nelson for our project we were turned down for the moment of silence but we might be able to put our quote or fact on the intercom and we hope we can still get our toilet talk poster up.

Friday, October 16, 2015

We spoke to Mr. Nelson about putting the quotes and the moment of silence on the intercom for November 20th or for the week before then so we can update people on when it will come beforehand but we got a "maybe" and he will speak to the school board. Another Obstacle is the toilet talk situation to which we don't know yet if we can use our toilet talk or even if we can get a few facts out there on the original poster that was in our poster. I completely forgot and gave up on the one second video a day thing and its been almost a month since my last video.

Reflection #4

Whats going on so far in our project is we spoke to our councilor about letting us put up our toilet talk posters, to which she told us to talk about it later in GSA club. (which no one who helped planned it even knew about it being that day) She then told us they already had posters planned so we may or may not get just some of the facts on ours inside of theirs already planned. What we need is to just get the councilors to agree with our poster and posting it up. if not. REBEL. We can put them up ourselves.

Reflection #3

Finished Toilet talk for trans rights planning to talk to councilors for on opinion on if we can use and if we can change anything on it. Next is to talk to Mr.Nelson for the trans day of remembrance. Our toilet talk paper runs on the basics of a Q and A segment, with the number for a suicide hotline called (Trevor Project) and we covered on who our councilors are and who they help.

2 week reflection

We've researched the November 20th Trans day of remembrance to study and decide what we can do around that to which we came to the conclusion to one day to dress like the Transgender flag and another on the actual say to have a moment of silence and a poem and or quote to promise the idea of trans rights for an everyday class and a life for people who experience trans hate and bashing, we hope to have this poem and silence over our schools intercom so people all over school can notice. and a group of people dress like the flag for people to ask why we dressed like that.

Promise Me!

What I am going to be doing is promoting the safety of Transgenders with my partner Nicole Waechter and our starting project are the joys of Safety Room Stickers or Signs. So that way students are able to go to teachers who they can trust (with the joy of these stickers) to choose teachers who they feel they can actually talk to and or come out to by being able to see these stickers. Another thing we will cover is the issue on Bathroom genders. A Transmale should be able to use the Males bathroom, not forced to use the females. Same being so about Transfemales. And they should be able to go to their perfered bathroom in safety. Transfemales going to the males bathroom have higher possibilitys to be raped and or beated. Transgender people are actually killed one person at a time every three days. Not even at schools. Anywhere. The street, the bathroom, the stores, work. They need to have the constant vigilance on every corner. Transgenders are just like you and I. Why should they be treated any differently? I want anyone who reads this blog to Promise Me? Stay kind to Transgenders. They're just like you and I, and that homeless guy on the street. Because even if this project can't change much of my own school. we want to at least raise awareness on this situation.
Welcome to my new blog. This was a blog made for a school project (which to this day i don't understand) and this blog is to promote the safety and rights of Transgenders.
